Description    
Dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs) are food and nutrition practitioners who work in a variety of settings; usually on teams with registered dietitians (RD). They extend and support the work of the RD by teaching classes, gathering nutrition assessment information, counseling individuals, developing menus, performing nutrient analysis, purchasing food, supervising employees, and much more. Their responsibilities vary based on specialty and the work setting. They are an integral part of health care and food service management teams. DTRs may also work in business, research, industry, and public health.

$16,000-$32,000 Eligible for licensure by examination with an AA/AAS and coursework in an accredited dietetic technician program. UNCG-JSNN (BS, Internship), WFU (BS)
