Design Cluster: Creative Enterprises & The Arts

Exhibit Designer
Design special exhibits and industry show sets. Plan for location-specific issues such as space limitations, traffic flow patterns, and safety concerns. Direct and coordinate construction, erection, and decoration activities. (27-1027)

Fashion/Costume/Wardrobe Designer
Design garments and accessories for individuals, organizations, or performance.

Furniture Designer
Design commercial, residential, case goods, soft goods and other types of furniture using materials including wood, metals, plastics and other natural or manufactured materials

Game designer (may include simulation/ virtual reality/multi-media/interactive media)
Create atmospheres, models, special effects, animation, or other visual images using film, video, computers, or other electronic tools and media for use in products or creations, such as computer games, serious games (e.g., advertising, education), forensics animations, movies, music videos, and commercials.(27-1014)

Industrial Designer
Develop and design manufactured products, such as tools, trucks, electronic, and mass-produced goods. Combine artistic talent with research on product use, marketing, and materials to create the most functional and appealing product design. (27-1021)

Interior Designer (including residential, commercial, hospitality, health care and other specialities)
Plan, design, and furnish interiors of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. Formulate design which is practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposesMay specialize in a particular field, style, or phase of interior design. (27-1025)

Photograph persons, subjects, merchandise, or other commercial products using digital and film media. Manipulate content using software or darkroom techniques to create digital or print images.

Textile Designer
Design patterns, select fibers, and specify hand or machine manufacturing techniques for prints and woven, non-woven, and other fabrics.

Design Assistant
Design applications under direction of designer in specific field

Creative/Design Director
Lead/manage creative departments of a design firm, advertising agency, or corporate design department. Direct development of graphic design, advertising, communictions, and industrial design publications

Art Director
Establish conceptual and stylistic direction for design staff; orchestrates work of designers, production artists, photographers, illustrators, prepress technicians, printers and others involved with projects. Selects vendors.

Print Production Manager
Manage bids, scheduling, production and delivery of publications, including photography, 4-color press work, and digital production.

Senior Designer
Conceptualize and design solutions for projects. May direct junior staff

Write, repurpose, edit, and proof editorial copy for print or electronic publication.

Web Designer
Develop the look and feel for websites, site navigation design,and visual execution

Graphic Designer
Conceptualize and design graphic applications such as collateral material, environmental graphics, books and magazines, corporate identity, film titling and multimedia interfaces for projects.

Print Production Artist
Develop layout, type and color with direction from Designer; use design software; process final files to printer specifications

Entry-level Designer
Design graphic applications under the direction of a higher level designer

Web Programmer/Developer (back-end systems)
Work with web server systems and databases; develop web queries to databases; program web applications

Web Producer
Organize web development teams; budget, schedule and oversee design of websites

Web Developer (front-end/niterface systems)
Use HTML/JavaScript/ASP/ColdFusion and other tools to develop static and dynamic web pages

Web Writer/Editor/Content Developer
Produce and repurpose text/graphic/audio content on websites

Web Designer
